Lake Kensington
Nature Park

Guiding a shared vision for recreation and renewal

What is a Master Plan?

A Master Plan is a guiding document that sets a long-term vision for how a place will grow and be used. For Lake Kensington Nature Park, the City of Kyle will study the 115-acre site to understand its natural systems, existing conditions, and ecology. Just as important, the plan will be shaped by robust public engagement to learn what the community values and wants to see in the park.

The Master Plan is important because it provides a clear framework for future decisions. Rather than making changes one at a time, the city can take a coordinated approach that balances conservation with recreation. This ensures that investments in trails, play areas, open spaces, and ecological restoration work together to create a park that is a lasting and meaningful asset for the entire community.

Lake Kensington is more than a reservoir — it’s a 115-acre landscape of prairie, water, and wildlife that’s ready to become a cornerstone of the Kyle community.
